UPDATE:
Bailey, now age 13, no longer has the
constant itching and scratching from his seborrhea. It is
completely under control and he is doing very well. He has lost
considerable weight, which for his heart, is a good thing.
His ears still
bother him and they need constant attention but he is not a
candidate for ear ablations because of his age and general
health. With all the Otomax and ear cleaner this guy goes through,
CSRNE should have considered buying stock in the companies! He
receives Cyclosporine twice daily for his eyes as he no longer
produces tears and he has lost both his sight and hearing but it
has not slowed him down a bit. Bailey has such a "matter of fact"
attitude about life in general and just plugs away day to day.
Nothing fazes this
guy! Unbelievably, he is immaculate in the house! This boy will
find the door and sit in front of it when he has to go out......I
guess he just hopes you notice within a reasonable amount of
time! If you don't, he will come and find you, bump into your leg
and turn around and head for the door again! This means things are
urgent! He never makes a peep and just asks for a soft bed to
curl up in. He is truly a Cocker Angel!
Bailey, at age
11, came to CSRNE when his owners moved and were unable to take
him. They were considering euthanasia, due to his seborrhea,
constant itching and need for weekly medicated baths
but CSRNE stepped in and has given him a home for life.
Bailey has
numerous medical issues, the least of which is his skin. He has an
enlarged heart and heart murmur and is on cardiac medications, he
has lost his sight and is on multiple eye medications, he is deaf
from chronic ear problems and is currently under care for weight
loss.
Bailey has a
loving personality and will gently look up at you and plant a kiss
on the tip of your nose! He loves to be close to you and will
snuggle right in for a hug. He also just cannot refuse a home-cooked
meal! Bailey is in need of monthly sponsors to help us continue
his care. All of his medications will need to continue for the
balance of his life.
