This smart friendly cocker is true “Sea Dog!”
For the past six years, Oreo has been a devoted companion to his dad
who is a commercial fisherman. Oreo loves to go to sea for weeklong
fishing trips where he could be with his dad all day every day –
(every cockers’ dream come true).
Two years ago, Oreo lost the sight in one eye
but despite this, he was able to safely to get around the boat he
knew so well. But last week, Oreo had a sudden episode of glaucoma
and lost the sight in his good eye. Now his dad can no longer take
him on weeklong fishing expeditions. Oreo needs to retire to the
comfort and safety of a home environment. He does not appear to be
distressed over his loss of vision – he’s always followed has dad
wherever he goes and still does so. He is a very adaptable
seven-year-old cocker who loves being around people and he’s happy
to show off all the commands and tricks he knows. He currently lives
with a kitty and they are best friends. Cocker Rescue has made an
appointment for Oreo with a veterinary ophthalmologist and will soon
know more about what treatment he’ll need. But the most important
thing now is to find Oreo a loving, safe home or foster home where
he can continue to be someone’s best buddy. Can
