This absolutely darling cocker was found
wandering the city streets in January in the bitter cold. She
was so badly matted that the shelter manager thought she was
blind and wasn't sure which end was which. At the shelter, she
patiently waited for someone to come for her but no one ever
did. Fortunately, Sophie had a Cocker Angel who learned of her
plight and called us. This Cocker Angel agreed to foster her - a
true act of kindness!
Sophie had a complete vet exam last week
including urinalysis, blood work and ultra sound. She has a
urinary tract infection and is on an antibiotic for the next 2
weeks. She also has a minor ear infection and dry eye in one of
her eyes. The optimune drops make her feel so much better.
Sophie's foster mom says she 's already acting perkier. In a
few weeks, she'll have a complete dental cleaning which will
probably include several extractions. Our vet thinks she's
about 8 years old.
Despite these correctable health issues,
Sophie is a lively, happy dog. She likes her foster mom’s other
dogs and cats. Like all cockers, she adores car rides and enjoys
leash walks. She is housebroken, crate trained, and “dances” on
her hind legs for a treat. Her foster mom says, “Sophie likes
back and belly rubs and is content to lay down near you. She’s
just a great, mellow little girl.”
Total cost of her care including the
dental surgery is $875.00
