When 6 year old Suzie was placed in her foster
home, she weighed 46 pounds and moved quite slowly. She had a
cherry eye, painful dry eye and her tear production was almost
zero. She bumped into things and didn’t know how to play. Today,
her foster mom reports that she is a changed dog!
After surgery to repair her cherry eye and
Optimune daily, her eyes look much better and she no longer stumbles
and bumps into people. She loves her Malaseb shampoo baths, her
skin looks great and she has lost 14 pounds! She is now a trim 32
pounds and has a definite waist line! Her foster mom reports that
“She is peppy, funny, loves to play ball in the fenced yard and even
uses the doggie door.”
Suzie has made up her own inside ball game if
no one will play with her; she takes her tennis ball onto the couch,
nudges it onto the floor, and then jumps down to get it. She would
be fine in a home with another dog or cats. And although she has
lots of energy outside, she is quiet inside. It’s been wonderful to
watch Suzie change from an obese dog to a happy, playful cocker.
Total cost of surgery and medication $1057.91
