Red Buddy is an adorable red and buff Cocker
Spaniel who just turned 4 years old in March 2006. He came to
CSRNE more than two years ago and has spent all of that time
with his foster family. My wife and I recently retired and
now have the time to devote to caring for a "furry companion"
again. We decided on the Cocker breed after some research and
investigation and this led us to the website for CSRNE.
Of
all the available Cockers we were immediately drawn to Red
Buddy. His description and profile fit exactly what we had hoped
for. He is very active and has a magnetic personality. We were
not disappointed.
We decided on a "second-hand" rescue dog
versus a new puppy for a number of reasons the most important of
which is that it is the "right thing to do" finding a permanent
home for a deserving animal.
It was love at first sight for us with Red
Buddy and we have not been disappointed in any way. He has
adapted to his new home and area and is already bringing us all
the joy and companionship we had hoped for.
We
have also enjoyed shopping for all his new toys, care products,
etc. He loves visits to PETCO. We have also constructed a new
kennel attached to our house so he can have his own secure area
to run and play catch with us.
Buddy loves to ride in his "crate" in the
back of the family SUV and also takes daily leash walks with us
and now has a very good familiarity with the neighborhood.
Throughout the adoption process we received a
lot of very use full information from the CSRNE folks
like Gerry Foss and Susan O'Connor as well as the foster home
caregivers, Monica and Geoff. This was extremely helpful and
made the transition very smooth.
